To ensure the quality of AdBlue® , the product must be handled in accordance with the ISO-22241 standard from production to final use. The product is produced, stored, handled and checked in accordance with the prescribed guidelines. It is therefore important that you, the customer, are aware of what is and is not permitted.
Which materials to use for storage, transfer and sampling?
Do’s
- Stainless steel (inox) 304, 316, 316L
- Polyethylene without additives
- Polypropylene without additives
- Poly-isobutylene without additives
- Perfluoroalkoxyl alkane (PFA) without additives
- Polyfluoroethylene (PFE) without additives
- Polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF) without additives
- Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) without additives
- Copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene without additives
Don’ts:
- Steel
- Non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, zinc, lead
- Galvanised steel
- Magnesium
- Nickel
Purity and cleaning?
Do’s:
- Make sure that all materials used are always clean. Cleaning should only be done with demineralised water. If demineralised water is not available, you can clean with pure water and rinse a few times with AdBlue®.
Don’ts:
- Avoid contact of AdBlue® with oil, grease, water, dust, etc.
- Inhale released ammonia vapours.
How to store AdBlue®?
Do’s:
- Insulate storage tanks
- Avoid storage above 25°C
- Protect against frost
- Equip aeration with filter
- Close the tanks completely
Don’ts:
- Store product above 25°C and in direct sunlight
Safety?
Do’s:
- Use liquid-tight gloves
- During tank inspection: use mask and splash goggles
- After contact with skin: rinse with water and soap
- After contact with eyes: rinse abundantly with water. In case of severe irritation: consult a doctor
Don’ts:
- Working with AdBlue® unprotected
- Breathing in released ammonia fumes
- Exposing product to frost
